Red Sea debut for Jet2holidays

Jet2holidays.com is to offer packages to Sharm El Sheikh in the initial stage of an expansion plan.

The operator will use XL Airways flights from Manchester for the programme which starts on November 4. It is the first time the company has not used its sister airline to operate flights.

The company said this is the start of its planned route expansion plans.

Managing director Richard Bodin said: “We will continue to use Jet2.com flights for the vast majority of our holidays, but it was always our intention to expand beyond their 39 destinations and we will be using other operators where we don’t have Jet2.com access.

“The Red Sea resort is justifiably world-famous, with a fabulous, sunny climate year round, warm tropical waters and varied nightlife and we’re delighted to make it our first non-Jet2.com destination.”

Prices start at £389 for one week half-board in three-star accommodation, or £399 for four-star half-board. Flights will run on Tuesdays and Sundays.
