New restaurants, more rooms and hotel renovations are adding up to the multi-million dollar urban revitalization going on in downtown Reno, Nevada.
Among developments there:
- Work is well underway on the new 10,000-seat Triple A Baseball stadium that will serve as the anchor of the $81 million Reno Baseball Stadium due to open next spring. Shops, businesses and entertainment options will be included, and a 148-unit Hyatt Summerfield Suites will be added.
- The new $25 million, Reno Ballroom is offering meeting planners a 28,000 square foot space that is proving to be popular.
- The 960-room Atlantis Casino Resort Spa this summer plans to complete a $50 million renovation and expansion that will add meeting and casino space, as well as a full-service spa.
- The 1,995-room Grand Sierra Resort and Casino is now completing a $3.5millin update to its 200,000 square feet of convention space.
- A $400 million expansion and renovation at the Peppermill Spa Casino is continuing in phases throughout the year. A new Tuscan themed tower will give the hotel 600 suites as well as a 62,000 square foot ballroom that lifts its convention space to 102,000 square feet.
- A spate of new upscale restaurants are sprouting up in hotels and other places in the city.
