Restored Doornberg House added to Eden Villas Sri Lanka portfolio
Sri Lanka luxury specialist Eden Villas has added the new Doornberg House in Galle to its portfolio of south coast properties.
Doornberg House dates back to 1712 and was built for the Dutch admiral of the same name.
It is perched on an acre of manicured lawn, above Galle, offering views of the UNESCO-heritage Galle Fort and the Indian Ocean.
The property has in the past, been a private residence, a school, and an orphanage.
Doornberg then operated as The Dutch House, a home and private boutique hotel.
Doornberg first opened as a private villa earlier this year, and is available to book in its entirety or by the individual room, through Eden Villas.
Doornberg House has four private suites, all with independent garden access.
Each air conditioned suite features a reading lounge, restored netted Dutch bed, ceiling fan, monogrammed linen on custom-made 10-inch mattresses, and a large period bathroom with cast iron bath.
The house features a collection of contemporary art from Sri Lankan Chinese and Australian artists.
It is surrounded by extensive and has a private pool.
Doornberg House can be booked by the room or as an entire property.
