Richard Branson takes flight as a space tourist
Virgin Galactic founder Richard Branson is now officially a space tourist. He joined as a passenger of SpaceShipTwo as it blasted off into suborbital space before landing safely back on terra firma.
It was the fourth test flight and Vrgin plans one more test flight before starting commercial space tourism service. It has a waiting list of hundreds of customers who have paid big money to ride aboard SpaceShipTwo.
Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos is set to take a suborbital space flight aboard a spacecraft next week. Bezos’ Blue Origin is a direct competitor in the space tourism market.
