Ride hailing unicorn Grab adding hotel bookings
Southeast Asia’s biggest ride hailing app Grab has bolstered its ‘superapp’ pretensions with the addition of hotel bookings.
Agoda listings will be available for in-app bookings, followed by inventory from Booking.com.
They will be rolled out progressively to all Singapore users by June.
Grab is also adding an event ticket booking service via BookMyShow and on-demand video streaming service HOOQ.
"A day with Grab can now be seamless from planning your commute to work, to ordering your next meal, and getting ready for your next movie date or holiday trip," said Jerald Singh, group head of product and design at Grab.
The Grab app also features food ordering and financial services.
Grab users will get free travel personal accident and flight delay insurance with each hotel booking made in the app.
Additionally, Grab has rolled out the new ‘Trip Planner’ service which lists all available transport options for a given route in Singapore including GrabShare or GrabTaxi.
