Riviera Travel launches Ionian cruises for 2022
Riviera Travel will offer ten Ionian Island Odyssey cruises in 2022.
Sailings will take place in June and early July, and then from late August to early October.
The eight-day itinerary is for a maximum of 24 guests served by six crew per sailing.
They will stay on one of two twin-masted schooners, which will sail the route together. The boats’ smaller size makes them ideal for coastal cruising.
The cruises will sail from Kefalonia and call at.secluded villages, islands and coves.
These include the tiny islet of Skorpios, Lefkas, and the Melissani Cave, a subterranean attraction renowned for its spectacular limestone lake with blue waters.
Guests will stay overnight in their final port visit of the day, allowing them to make the most of their evenings on shore.
There will also be regular opportunities to swim in the local waters across a host of shorelines only accessible from the sea, including Antisamos beach, the location for several scenes from the Captain Corelli’s Mandolin film.
The boats have an open deck for sunbathing, as well drinks and meals.
A buffet lunch will be on offer every day.
All cabins have double beds, with some triples available, and include portholes and private showers.
Katja Hildebrandt from Riviera Travel said: “Our Ionian Islands cruise is an ideal break for anyone looking to head off the beaten track. There’s no better way to explore the local area than by sea, with our boats and itinerary offering the perfect combination of accessibility and hospitality.”
Prices start from £1699pp including return flights and transfers with regional airport options available.
