Rocky Mountaineer restructures global sales team
Rocky Mountaineer has restructured its global sales team under a newly created role of managing director, sales – international.
Taking on the new role is Steve Maksymyk, former vice president of global partnerships and ventures at InterContinental Hotels Group, who will be based out of the company’s head office in Vancouver.
Before IHG, he spent more than six years in Shanghai, China as a management consultant with a focus on distribution channels and digital capabilities.
In the Europe region, Steve Harris will continue in his role as regional sales director – EMEA, and will report to Maksymyk.
Rocky Mountaineer vice president of global sales Karen Hardie said: "We have strong regional sales leaders in each market and we look forward to Steve collaborating with these leaders to leverage their combined expertise in working with our in-market trade partners."
The train company will celebrate 30 years in 2020.
Since it was founded in 1990, Rocky Mountaineer has welcomed more than two million guests and become the largest privately-owned luxury tourist train in the world.
