Rugby World Cup demand sees 14% increase in France flight bookings
Demand from rugby fans has led to a 14% increase in France flight bookings.
The Rugby World Cup 2023 is due to start on 8 September across various locations in France.
Online travel agent, Opodo, says France flight bookings are up compared to the same dates in 2022*.
Of these, 23% of bookings for travel during this tournament have been made by French travelers.
Spanish travellers (17% of bookings) and Italians (10%) are the next highest with UK rugby fans at 9% share.
Opodo says the average length of stay during this period is 3-4 days.
The business end of the tournament – the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals, take place on 14-15 October.
It says good deals are still available, such as from Manchester to Marseille with Opodo Prime savings
Additionally, there are still flights available for the semi-finals on 27-28 October.
Fans can depart from Glasgow, to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
