Ryanair claims its improved mobile app is the most popular airline app in Europe on both Apple and Android devices after it was downloaded by more than 17 million customers.

The low-cost carrier said visits from the app, which has a 4.5 out of 5 star customer rating, rose by 70% in the last week of December and the first week of January.

The Ryanair app also features the My Ryanair customer log-in function, allowing faster access and easier booking. It is available in eight languages, with a Portuguese version launching soon.

The app allows customers to view flight info., save travel documents, choose and book fares and allocated seats, book hotels and car hire, check in and download mobile boarding passes.
