Ryanair seeks aircraft advertisers
Ryanair is considering selling advertising space on the interior, as well as exterior of its aircraft, in a move the no frills carrier said will help keep fares low.
The carrier is reportedly hoping large global brands will initially take up the opportunity of advertising on the aircraft itself and has employed a company, Inflight Media, to market the idea.
Branding on the interior of the aircarft is likely to follow, according to The Observer.
“Companies that advertise on our aircraft will gain unrivalled exposure to hundreds of million of Europe’s most mobile customers,” chief executive Michael O’Leary is reported to have said.
It is thought brands such as Red Bull, with its tagline “it gives you wings” and Ikea, regarded as the low cost equivalent to Ryanair in the home furnishings market, are being approached.
