Ryanair takes next step in bid to become ‘Amazon of travel’

Ryanair has launched Ryanair Tickets, in partnership with Coras, allowing customers to book tickets for London West End shows.

Now live on the airline’s website, more events and attractions will be added in the coming months.

The launch is one of four initiatives unveiled this week at Ryanair’s Web Summit.

It also unveiled a major upgrade to its Ryanair Rooms website, launched in October last year, offering customers a wider choice of hotel, hostel, B&B, holiday villa and homestay options. At the time of the launch, it said that it was aiming to ‘disrupt the travel industry once more’. Its criteria for featuring accommodation is that it must be offered ‘at the lowest possible prices’.

Ryanair has also launched a dedicated Chinese website –
www.ryanair.com/cn/zh – allowing Chinese customers to search and book its European flights.

Meanwhile, improvements to its personalised MyRyanair product means passengers can now see their preferred and most recently searched routes, as well as recommended products and services based on the type of trip.

"Ryanair Tickets are the latest steps on our journey to becoming the ‘Amazon of Travel’, and with these new digital initiatives, we’re continuing to improve all aspects of the Ryanair experience for our 129 million customers," said marketing chief Kenny Jacobs.
