Sabre contest invites developers to ‘reinvent travel’
Sabre is looking for creative tech minds to ‘reinvent travel’ by inviting developers to take part in a 24-hour hackathon.
The firm is holding a hackathon at its Dallas headquarters and for developers online on August 1-2 and is open to all residents of the US and Canada.
Sabre Dev Studio will make its APIs and other tools available for registered teams of up to five developers who are tasked with writing code to meet one of four different challenges.
Sabre is inviting creative solutions to data-driven personalization, social collaboration, integrating travel with other industry sectors, or building a unique product using three or more APIs.
Fresh code much be used but designers can work on digital designs and mockups before the event kicks off at noon on August 1.
Contestants should be able to show their hacks functioning when presenting the results.
Results will be judged equally on technical quality, design, originality, and how the original challenge was met.
Overall winners will receive a first prize of $5,000 in cash and a $10,000 worth of Sabre APIs.
Developers who attend the event at Sabre HQ will also have a chance of winning tech gear.
