Sabre launches first NDC offers with United Airlines
Sabre’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) has been officially rolled out with United Airlines
This enables agencies in Sabre’s Beyond NDC program to make NDC enabled bookings.
United is the first major airline to do so and is able to offer travel advisors extra flight amenities and new fare options.
"United is thrilled to be the first airline to partner with Sabre to offer NDC capabilities through their booking platform as we continue to advance the travel industry," said Dave Bartels, United’s VP of revenue management.
It marks a milestone in NDC becoming the industry standard, says Sabre.
"This development is a significant step forward for the travel industry because it advances a pan-industry vision and moves NDC closer to becoming an everyday reality for travelers, carriers, and agencies," it said.
More NDC capabilities will roll out later this year including integration with the Sabre Red 360 agent platform.
Other NDC partners of Sabre include American Airlines, American Express Global Business Travel, and Flight Centre Travel Group.
