Sabre tool ‘to help agencies run more effectively’
A fully-integrated, end-to-end business information system is being marketed to UK travel agencies by Sabre Travel Network.
Hillgate Travel is one of the first UK travel management companies to make use of the system.
Dubbed Sabre CentralCommand, it allows agencies to choose from 65 standard reports, or customise their own, to measure and understand all areas of their business. Report types include detailed profit and loss statements for individual agents and each of their customers.
Sabre says CentralCommand delivers “critical information” in real-time, and can import data from outside sources. It also enables travel agencies and travel management companies to email their clients complete or partial statements, invoices and credit notes.
The tool can handle accounting applications in 12 languages and multiple currencies, and it complies with VAT and global tax requirements. It also provides a secure weblink that allows business travellers’ invoices to be stored. These can then be accessed directly by travellers when completing their expense claims.
Sabre CentralCommand is available either as a fully independent system where the agency manages their own information on-site, or as a hosted or service bureau solution, where Sabre manages the data from a secure data centre. Agents pay a monthly subscription fee which varies dependent on transaction volume and configuration required.
Hillgate’s chief information officer Simon Bull said: “We need to be able to report across all business areas and address our clients’ complex information needs with minimum effort, disruption and cost. Sabre CentralCommand is a strategic tool that enables us to do this and, as a result, we can now better control and grow our business without incurring additional costs.”
Sabre’s vice-president UK and Ireland vice-president Reet Wiseman said: “Sabre is adding value by helping travel agencies run their businesses more effectively.”
