Saga Cruises’ new ship debut delayed

Wednesday, 01 Oct, 2020 0

As it welcomes a brand new ship, Saga Cruises further delayed a return to service until February 2021.

That means a delay to the maiden voyage of the Spirit of Adventure cruise ship until 5 February, 2021.

"I know how disappointing this news will be for many of you who were so looking forward to a return to cruising and, perhaps particularly, for those who were as excited as we were to see Spirit of Adventure set sail later this year," Saga Cruises said in a new website update.

The Spirit of Adventure was initially scheduled to debut in November 2020.

It accommodates 999 guests.

Spirit of Discovery is expected to restart cruising on 7 March, 2021.

When the time comes to sail again Saga has implemented new onboard protocols including Covid-19 testing at home and prior to boarding for guests and crew, reduced capacity, face coverings in public spaces and social distancing measures.

Ships are also expanding medical services with a dedicated isolation zone.

Guests booked on impacted cruises will be contacted soon and offered rebooking options or may request a full refund.
