Friday saw the launch of the new San Michelle Travel comprehensive India program.

The company’s managing director, Ian Norris, said that virtually all 15 tours in the totally revamped 40 page India program brochured as Experience the Living Cultures of India were based around festivals.

“We have a large database of festivals, fairs and special cultural events held throughout India and can advise clients of specific activities that can be included in their itineraries”, he said.

“As well we have incorporated a number of unique products into our tours such as an exclusive desert camp in Rajasthan and accommodation in heritage hotels like hunting lodges and maharaja palaces in a number of destinations”, he added.

New for the 2005/2006 season is a 25 day train tour of India using the second largest railway system in the world experiencing a rail journey in a range of different trains.

This odyssey includes many tourist centres of India: Delhi, Agra, Varanasi, Darjeeling, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Mysore, Bangalore, Mumbai, Jodhpur, Jaipur and back to Delhi.

All travel between cities is by train with extensive local sightseeing and excursions to nearby places of interest undertaken in private a/c cars with English speaking drivers.

The twin share train tour package includes all ground arrangements in India, 2nd class a/c rail tickets, accommodation, breakfasts, a/c transportation by private car/driver and English speaking guides for sightseeing.

At the time of booking, clients are advised about festivals occurring during their stay in India whether it’s an extended holiday like the train tour or a three-day package in a gateway city.

As all San Michele Travel India programs are completely flexible adjustments can easily be made to an itinerary so that a client can participate in the living culture of India.
