Saville expands in N Queensland
The Saville Hotel Group has announced that it is making its first step into North Queensland through a new $80 million luxury hotel and residential complex in the heart of Townsville.
Jarrod McCracken’s Crackers Corporation has applied for Townsville City Council approval to build the project, comprising a 155-room hotel and 83 residential units on the Ross Creek site between Victoria Bridge and parkland next to the George Roberts Bridge. Saville, a division of Stella Hospitality Group, will manage the hotel.
“Together, Townsville’s strong economy and this quality project represent a compelling opportunity for us to expand into North Queensland,” said Greg Sear, Chief Operations Officer of Saville Hotel Group. “The region’s resource and infrastructure sectors are booming, creating strong demand for corporate accommodation.”
The new hotel will increase the number of properties under management by Saville to 12, including a presence in every mainland capital city.
The project includes public entrances, restaurants, bars and function areas on the ground floor and level one. A gymnasium, day spa and terrace area are located on level three, with hotel rooms on levels three to 11.
The hotel will offer a combination of studio, one and two bedroom apartments.
