Schools ski operator adds Japan
Niche schools travel operator Pinnacle Travel has added trips to Japan to its 2008-09 ski programme.
The company, which has marked its 10th anniversary, is featuring 29 resorts worldwide in the brochure, including 13 new ones.
The new programme follows a year of record sales, with carryings hitting 6,000 passengers for the first time.
The programme is being distributed to teachers and group leaders throughout the UK. It carries a focus on the US, where the company claims to have been the leading schools operator for some time, but for the first time introduces Japan to the school marketplace.
Managing director Nigel Parker said: “Every year, our existing and new party leaders look for new venues for their ski visits, and we are delighted to introduce 13 new resorts this year alone, which we believe allows us to retain our market-leading position in this sector.
“We are also delighted that so many of our partner resorts understand the value of the business which we can generate for them. Indeed, 16 of our resorts are contracted exclusively to Pinnacle in the UK school ski market, all on a long-term basis.”
Chairman and founder David Lyne said: “We have an unusually high level of repeat business for this sector, and with the opening of our own dedicated office in the USA this year, we are confident that we can continue to grow through delivering exactly what our customers are looking for.”
