Scoop! Brazilian beach gets doggy toilets
A seaside town in Brazil has reportedly put up two toilets on the beach. Nothing strange about that, you may think – except that the latrines have been specially designed as canine conveniences, rather than the human type. According to the online news provider Ananova, which is in turn quoting the Brazilian newspaper Jornal da Tarde, the toilets at Biquinha beach, Sao Paolo, are surrounded by flowers and offer “a choice of relief areas – green grass, cement or sand”. The conveniences reportedly feature a wooden pole on which the dogs can urinate, and a bin. The local authority’s supervisor Antonio Neto reportedly told the newspaper: “Now we hope the dogs will all use the proper bathrooms. We hope to build three more like these.”
