Scottish agency buys Alba Travel
Inverness-based Alba Travel has been acquired by the parent of travel management company and marine travel specialist Clyde Travel for an undisclosed sum.
The Alba name will be retained and it will continue to be run as a separate business under the new ownership of The Clyde Group, which has offices in Glasgow, Clydebank, Southampton and Aberdeen with 42 staff.
Clyde managing director Brian Potter said there would be no redundancies amongst the 16 Alba staff.
The purchase would give Clyde direct access to consumer and foreign exchange products it could not previously offer, he said.
Alba will benefit through greater use of technology and access to the specialist offshore contracts held by Clyde.
Alba was previously run by Joyce Milne and three directors who will remain with the company, according to Clyde.
