A Scottish hotel has joined hotels across the globe to be named one of the 28 most ‘jaw-dropping’ hotels in the world

The Atholl Palace Hotel in Perthshire, Scotland, was the only hotel in the UK and Ireland to make the grade.

The ranking from global travel website, TravelGround, listed four star Atholl Palace Hotel in position number 22 due to its turret suites and formal gardens.

It joins hotels like Burj Al Arab, Dubai, Singita Serengeti House, Tanzania, Hotel du Glace, Canada and the Hotel Ristorante Grotta Palazzese, Italy.

Anthony Kelly, business development director for the Castle Collection of Hotels, which includes Atholl Palace, said: "To be the only hotel in the UK and Ireland included in this exclusive ranking makes the accolade all the more prestigious, not just for the hotel, but also for Scotland as a world-class destination."

Atholl Palace Hotel is located an hour from Edinburgh and 90 minutes from Glasgow with a spa and a museum featuring the life and times of the hotel.
