Seabourn hire acclaimed designer for luxury newbuild
Luxury cruise line Seabourn is bring aboard celebrity designer Adam Tihany to create the new look for its next ship, due for completion in 2016.
The cruise line said Tihany will be in charge of designing its showrooms, outdoor deck areas, dining venues, casino and spa.
The as yet unnamed ship will accommodate 600 passengers and will become its biggest vessel yet.
The design will be based on the current Seabourn Odyssey-class ships with an additional deck and larger public areas.
Tihany is noted for his work with restaurants and luxury resorts including Mandarin Oriental in Las Vegas, The Beverly Hills Hotel, Hotel Cipriani in Venice, and the Breakers at Palm Beach, Florida.
He is Art Director of the Culinary Institute of America, and a member of the advisory Board of the New York School of Interior Design.
Tihany has also been inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame.
