Seabourn names first new expedition ship
Seabourn is naming its first new custom-built expedition ship Seabourn Venture.
The name pays tribute to the line’s remote destinations and the Ventures by Seabourn excursion programs.
Still under construction, the ship is scheduled to launch in mid-2021 followed by a sister ship the following year.
"The name Seabourn Venture is an exciting step in the process of launching even more immersive voyages designed specifically for the expedition traveler," said Richard Meadows, president of Seabourn.
Seabourn began expedition sailing more than five years ago with an Antarctica itinerary wihich was the catalyst for the Ventures by Seabourn excursion program which features Zodiacs, kayaks, and hiking in Alaska, Australasia, South America, and Scandinavia.
Seabourn Venture will have 132 seaview suites and two submarines onboard, as well as Zodiacs and kayaks.
