Search called off for Cunard crew member
The search for a crew member who went overboard on Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 has been called off.
In a statement, the cruise line said after discussions with experts ashore, it was decided there was no possibility he would still be alive.
He had gone overboard off the coast of Newfoundland on Saturday and could not have survived in the water that long, it said.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, which has been informed, as well as friends and his colleagues on board," said the statement.
"Queen Mary 2 will now resume course towards Halifax where it will arrive on Monday."
