Search resumes for girl missing on Essex beach
An air and sea rescue mission has resumed this morning for a 10-year-old girl who disappeared off an Essex beach yesterday afternoon.
The girl, from Buckinghamshire, was on a day trip to Clacton with a friend and her friend’s parents.
The two girls got into trouble while playing at a groyne, close to the beach.
An onlooker pulled one of the girls to safety but could not find the other.
A helicopter search continued over night and resumed this morning.
The rescued girl, who is with her mother, is now at Colchester General Hospital recovering from shock.
