Search widens for missing passenger plane in Indonesia
The search has widened for a missing plane carrying seven passengers and three crew in the south Sulawesi province of Indonesia.
Six planes and four ships have now joined the search, reports Associated Press, and there are reports it may not have been fitted with an emergency locator transmitter, commonly known as a Black Box.
Air traffic control lost radio contact with the plane about 30 minutes before it was due to land on Friday in the provincial capital of Makassar.
Transportation Ministry spokesman Julius Barata said a search crew had been dispatched for the passenger plane, which is owned by Jakarta-based airline Aviastar Mandiri.
In 2009 a Aviastar BAe 146-300 PK-BRD crashed into a mountain as it was attempting to land at Wamena Airport.
