A top level restructuring by Stella Travel Services UK has been unveiled as part of an ongoing plan to integrate its various businesses.
Four general managers under managing director Andrew Botterill will now have full responsibility for making their brands profitable.
The general managers will also have direct responsibility for the marketing, sales and commercial functions which sit within their respective brands.
Andy Freeth, sales director for Triton Holidays and more recently Travel 2, becomes general manager for Travel 2, based in Glasgow.
Tony Carty, director of call centre operations for Global Travel Group, becomes general manager for Travelbag, based in Chester.
Dave Clayton, director of commercial at Global Travel Group, expands his role to become general manager for Global Travel Group, also based in Chester.
Paul Edwards, general manager of Sunmaster, expands his role to incorporate Global Late Deals and becomes general manager, Consumer Direct.
The general managers will be supported by a team of directors, which includes air product director Kaylene Shuttlewood, who will continue to be based in London, leading the air product team.
Kevin Coles takes up an expanded role as director of land product and purchasing for the Stella UK group.
Botterill said that, following Stella’s purchase of Global Travel Group in December 2007, the integration process was ahead of schedule and the changes would further strengthen its position in the UK.
He claimed that future booking trends were positive and that sales to North America, the Far East and the Middle East were particularly strong.
“These changes give us an excellent opportunity to strengthen our position in the market,” said Botterill.
“We have worked hard to integrate our businesses and we are now seeing the benefits of that coming through.
“For example, Travel 2 historically concentrated on selling scheduled flights only but following the restructure is now also selling a lot of hotel accommodation.
“These are exciting times for us and I’m confident these changes will enable us to drive the business forward.”
