Senior management appointments for Accor
Accor, leading hotel group in the Asia Pacific, is set to take on a new look with changes to its senior operational management team in Australia and China. The moves will further align the Asia and Pacific region for the hotel group.
“The changes to our Operations team will further complement our focus on growing a more closely aligned relationship between Australia and Asia,” said Accor Asia Pacific Managing Director Michael Issenberg.
Joining the Australian Operations team from China, Richard Kaldor, will take on the dual roles of Regional General Manager – Sofitel Hotels Australia and Vice President, Sofitel Brand Asia Pacific, reflecting the growth in Accor’s 5-star luxury brand in the Asia Pacific region. Richard has held the role of Vice President – China since 2001, and was previously General Manager of the historic Sofitel Metropole Hanoi. He will commence his new role in January 2006, based in Sydney.
One of Accor’s most experienced Australian General Managers, Robert Murray, will take on the role of Vice President Operations – China, responsible predominantly for Northern China, based in Shanghai. Robert has held the role of General Manager at Accor’s flagship Darling Harbour hotels since 2000, having previously held senior roles for Accor in both Australia and New Zealand. Robert will commence his new role on 14 November 2005.
Assuming the role of Area General Manager, Darling Harbour Hotels, Mark Ronfeldt will move from his current role as General Manager, Novotel & Hotel Ibis Sydney Olympic Park, which he has held since 2001, having previously managed Accor hotels in Brisbane and Perth. Mark will commence his new role at Darling Harbour from mid-November.
Paul Richardson has been appointed to the role of General Manager, Sydney Olympic Park Hotels and will take over from Mark Ronfeldt mid-November.
