September deemed “Wine Month” in California
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has declared September 2007, “California Wine Month.” Groups who come to Los Angeles in September will find it easy to get into the spirit of wine appreciation and toast “California Wine Month” at festivals and restaurants all over town.
The 25th American Wine and Food Festival is at Universal Studios Hollywood, Sept. 28 – 29. On Sept. 16, the San Antonio Winery Food & Wine Festival adds more group dynamics with a “Roll Back the Clock” theme, with tastings and talks on the early wines of the LA region. In the heart of Downtown, the San Antonio Winery is the last of more than one hundred producing wineries that once lined the Los Angeles River Basin. And just in time for California Wine Month, the new V-vin bar at Valentino in Santa Monica will attract groups with its attractively priced flights of older vintages and rarely seen labels.
To find out more information about Los Angeles wine events, the Wine Institute has partnered with winery members, regional winery and grower associations, retailers and restaurants and other organizations to produce an online events calendar.
