Servisair signs partnership with SITA
Aviation ground handler, Servisair, has formed a working partnership with SITA, a provider of IT business solutions and communication services for the air transport industry.
The partnership will see Servisair benefiting from SITA’s Horizon portfolio, designed to speed up check-in procedures for airlines, in 30 locations in Europe and North America.
The agreement includes use of the SITA Departure Control Services, along with e-ticketing and web check-in applications, plus Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) processing and network connectivity.
The e-ticketing component will support airline efforts to meet the IATA’s 2007 deadline for the elimination of paper tickets.
Rob Watkins, SITA regional vice president for Northern Europe, said: “SITA’s tailored solution will deliver economic and operational improvements over the next five years and we look forward to the next phase of the development when we will implement new passenger processing applications for Servisair.”
