Shangri-La expands free Covid-19 medical cover to more hotels
Luxury hotel operator Shangri-La will expand free Covid-19 medical cover to more hotels.
It is adding the perk at a further 21 properties in Southeast Asia, Australia, Hong Kong and Japan.
It started offering Covid-19 medical cover to guests at one Singapore hotel in January and then expanded it to seven hotels.
It is available for guests who check in for hotel stays up to 31 December 2021.
"With global vaccination programmes and discussions of international borders relaxation gaining some momentum, we anticipate more people will soon be looking to safely travel once again," said Lim Beng Chee, CEO of Shangri-La Group.
"The proactive arranging of Covid-19 insurance coverage, which is increasingly a travel staple, demonstrates our commitment to be there for our guests every step of the way."
It covers emergency medical expenses up to US$184,000 for treatment related to a positive Covid-19 test during the stay.
