Shearings beefs up senior team

Several senior appointments have been made by Shearings to help lead its growing commercial team and launch its 2010 brochures.

The Wigan-based firm has appointed Chris Barker as marketing manager, with responsibilities including trade, PR and online. His 20 year career travel industry includes time at Cresta Holidays.
 
Business development manager Michael Bowers has been made sales manager responsible for maintaining and developing travel trade sales on a local, regional and national level.
 
Three new commercial managers have been appointed.
 
Matthew Herbert is UK holidays manager with a focus to grow UK and Ireland passenger carryings by offering a larger variety of tours and increasing relations with third party hotels.
 
Sophie Cann is Europe holidays manager and Patricia Birmingham is product development manager.
 
All new appointments will report to commercial director Caroline Brown.
 
Shearings’ four 2010 brochures include 30 new UK tours, 12 new European itineraries and 34 river cruise holidays across 14 ships. The company is also launching its first ocean cruise this month.
