Shearings launching ‘Set-cation’ TV tours
Escorted coach tour specialist Shearings is leveraging the nation’s love of classic TV shows and soaps for a new collection of direct-route mini-breaks.
The ‘Set-cations’ are all themed around popular TV programmes.
Currently there are six ‘Set-cations’.
They feature visits to the soap sets of Coronation Street and Emmerdale, following in the footsteps of DCI Vera on location in Northumberland; exploring the Regency world of Bridgerton’s Bath, All Creatures Great and Small and Agatha Christie.
The direct-route mini-breaks offer shorter journey times, with limited stops along the way and no change of coach,
All breaks include a hand-picked hotel stay and are fully escorted.
Shearings’ head of retail sales, Ashley Dellow said: “The hugely popular TV programmes featured in Shearings’ new ‘Set-cations’ collection is sure to attract fans keen to visit TV sets and locations.”

Coronation Street ‘Meet a Star’ Experience 3 days from £279pp
This mini-break includes a 90-minute guided tour of the set of Coronation. Then, for the highlight of the tour, there’s the chance to meet one of the cast members. There is a visit to the new Visitor Centre with exhibits and a cinema experience, The tour also includes a visit to Manchester Christmas Market.
Behind the Scenes at Coronation Street and Emmerdale 3 days from £279pp
This weekend break takes in all the sets on Corrie and Emmerdale and the iconic landmarks.
Vera’s Northumberland Tour: Step into the Drama 3 days from £199pp
Experience Northumberland through DCI Vera and a world of murder and mystery on this short break. A specialist guide takes guests through Northumberland’s coastal highlights, such as Lindisfarne Island, the fictional home of Vera, as well as Amble, Warkworth, Alnmouth and Seahouses.
Discovering Darrowby: All Creatures Great and Small 3 days from £219pp
This weekend break explores the filming locations made famous by the popular TV series ‘All Creatures Great and Small’. With an official Yorkshire guide, there’s a visit to Grassington, which features in the series as the fictional market town of Darrowby. There’s the chance for a pint in The Drovers Arms and wander the iconic cobbled streets and market square that feature in many episodes. Also included is a trip to The World of James Herriot Museum in Thirsk, where the famous vet lived and worked.
Dearest Gentle Reader: Let’s Tour Bridgerton’s Bath 3 days from £249pp
This break explores the city of Bath with a specialist Bridgerton guide. Many of the scenes in this popular Netflix series were filmed in Bath to take advantage of the city’s iconic Georgian architecture, including the residences of Lady Danbury and the Featheringtons, the Modiste dress shop, Gunter’s tea shop and more.
Agatha Christie Tour: Experience the English Riviera 3 days from £219pp
The English Riviera, famous for its palm trees, beaches and harbours, is where the “Queen of Crime” Agatha Christie was born and raised. In Torquay, Christie trained as a pharmacist, gained her knowledge of poisons, and began to write her first crime novels, later transferred to the big and small screens. The tour traces Agatha’s life and writing, and the inspiration for Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot.
