SIA adds second A380 to Sydney-Singapore service
Singapore Airlines’ will introduce a second A380 aircraft flying between Sydney and Singapore from this Sunday, adding an extra 140,000 seats a year.
With four flights a day between the cities, Singapore Airlines will replace a daily B777-300ER on the afternoon service from Sydney with the second A380 aircraft.
SQ222 will depart Sydney each day at 4.30pm and arrive in Singapore at 9.40pm local time. The return flight, SQ231 will depart Singapore at just after midnight and arrive the same day in Sydney at 11.25am.
“The launch of this second A380 service is in response to the growth in demand we are experiencing on the Sydney-Singapore route,†said Subhas Menon, Singapore Airlines’ regional vice president South West Pacific.
From early 2011, customers in all classes can make the most of Singapore Airlines’ inflight connectivity which will include a range of onboard communications such as Wi-Fi internet and mobile telephone services.
