SIA-Garuda JV green lighted by Singapore regulator
Flag carriers Singapore Airlines and Indonesia based Garuda have received approval from Singapore competition regulator for an airline joint venture (JV) partnership.
The JV will allow the airlines to collaborate across a wide range of commercial activities.
This could potentially include revenue-sharing flights, coordinating their flight timings plus sales and marketing functions.
Flights within the JV include routes between Singapore and Jakarta, Medan, Surabaya and Bali.
It could also encompass select long-haul routes including London and Mumbai flights.
“This partnership underscores a commitment to improving connectivity between Indonesia and Singapore and beyond,” said SIA CEO Goh Choon Phong.
