SIA to back Queensland tourism push
Singapore Airlines has forged a three-year marketing pact with Queensland to boost tourist numbers to the Australian state.
The airline and Tourism Queensland will collaborate globally to develop and promote Queensland as a top international tourist destination, supplementing an existing agreement between SIA and Tourism Australia.
At least £400,000 has been committed by the two to fund joint activities in mutually agreed markets over three years.
The UK is one of eight countries to be targeted with jointly organised media familiarisation trips and roadshows. The others are China, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore.
SIA claims to be the largest foreign airline serving the Brisbane gateway, with capacity growth of 200% inside four years.
