Silkair launching Laos flights

Monday, 27 Apr, 2016 0
Singapore Airlines’ regional wing Silkair will launch flights to the Lao cities of Vientiane and Luang Prabang in October.

Still subject to approval, the service will begin on October 31 on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

It will operate a triangular route from Singapore to Vientiane and then on to Luang Prabang.

It will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft and gives the airline the distinction of serving every country in Southeast Asia.

"We believe that this new service has great potential, as more travellers turn their interest to Southeast Asia and destinations such as Laos. This new service will also allow Laotians increased connectivity to the rest of the world via Singapore," said SilkAir CEO Leslie Thng.

Outside of the ASEAN region, SilkAir also serves the Maldives, Nepal, Australia, China and India.
