Silkair names new CEO

SilkAir has named Foo Chai Woo as new CEO, replacing Leslie Thng who is moving back to parent company Singapore Airlines.
 
Foo’s appointment begins on 18 May 2016 and he has served as Singapore Air’s divisional vice president sales and marketing for the past two years.
 
Foo has been with SIA for more than 20 years and held positions across its global network including Japan, New Zealand and Pakistan.
 
"SilkAir has gone from strength to strength under Leslie’s leadership, during which time the airline continued to grow both its network and its fleet in support of its role as the regional wing of Singapore Airlines. I look forward to working closely with Chai Woo in his new position as SilkAir continues to expand its operations," said SilkAir chairman Mak Swee Wah.
