Silversea Cruises unveils plans for hybrid powered ships
Silversea Cruises plans to introduce a next generation hybrid ship in the summer of 2023. The new class of ships will have three different power sources using a fuel cell system, battery technology and dual-fuel engines, which can use liquefied natural gas.
Royal Caribbean Group says it will be the first ship of its kind with large-scale fuel cell technology. Dubbed Project Evolution, it will offer emission-free port operations and 40% overall cut in its emissions.
