Simon Calder to appear on WTM Portfolio webinar
WTM Portfolio’s new online portal will host a webinar on Thursday with travel journalist and broadcaster Simon Calder.
Called ‘Travel Update with Simon Calder’, the virtual event will offer attendees the chance to hear his views about the impact of Covid-19 on travel and tourism.
Calder is senior travel editor at The Independent and a familiar face on TV, giving advice to consumers about the travel industry.
He has more than 75,000 followers on Twitter and shares travel news and opinion daily on Facebook and Instagram.
During the webinar, he will analyse the response of travel companies during this crisis. He will also outline possible recovery strategies for different sectors – ranging from cruise and aviation to hotels and travel agents.
He will be interviewed by travel journalist Lisa Francesca Nand, who is also the presenter of the travel podcast, WTM Insights.
There will be an opportunity to ask Calder questions during the webinar, which starts at 2pm on Thursday.
Claude Blanc, WTM Portfolio director, said: "Simon is one of the world’s most respected travel journalists, so this webinar offers the WTM community a value opportunity to get his perceptive and knowledgeable guidance doing this crisis."
Launched on April 23, WTM Global Hub aims to support travel industry professionals around the world.
