Singapore Air flight gets fighter jet escort after bomb scare
A Singapore Airlines flight landed safely after being escorted to Singapore by F-16 fighter jets due to a bomb scare.
The flight from Mumbai carrying 263 passengers landed safely at Changi International Airport where a woman and a child were detained for questioning.
Shortly after departure, the airline received a call claiming a bomb was on the plane.
It turned out to be a hoax with nothing found aboard.
"Singapore Airlines confirms there was a bomb threat concerning SQ423 operating from Mumbai to Singapore. We are assisting the authorities with their investigations," the airline said.
