Singapore Airlines to honour business class tickets after computer glitch
Singapore Airlines has agreed to honour business class bookings that were mistakenly sold at economy prices due to a computer glitch.
But in an apparent u-turn, Singapore Airlines now claims all affected bookings will be honoured to ‘ensure no disruption to customers’ travel plans’.
The airline said: "Singapore Airlines will be contacting affected customers and travel agents to advise that their Business Class bookings will be honoured at the original fare purchased.
"Singapore Airlines was alerted on Saturday, 29 November to an issue which saw Business Class bookings able to be made at an outdated Economy Class fare level. This was due to a booking sub-class recently being reassigned from Economy Class to Business Class. Corrective action was immediately taken to address the issue.
"Investigations continue to be carried out to determine the root cause of this issue.
"Singapore Airlines would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused."
The computer error meant around 900 business class seats on Singapore Airlines were sold at economy prices last week.
