Singapore Tourism Board partners with Alipay
The Singapore Tourism Board is teaming up with payment platform Alipay to share content and big data to improve the visitor experience for Chinese travellers.
Under the terms of a signed MOU, Alipay and STB will share relevant content between STB’s Tourism Information and Services Hub and Alipay’s customer platforms.
The goal is to enhance awareness of the latest tourism attractions and events to ensure travellers get access to all updated information before and during their trips to Singapore.
They will also share data and analytics on the latest travel trends in the China market to ‘better understand and target Chinese consumers with more relevant products and experiences,’ according to a joint release.
The two parties will ‘explore co-investment in joint-marketing initiatives to market destination Singapore and Alipay merchants with the objective of increasing visitor spend via Alipay platforms.’
China is Singapore’s top market in both visitor arrivals and tourism spending.
Alipay, which has about 500 million active users, also recently inked a similar deal with the Scandinavian Tourist Board to promote inbound tourism to Denmark and Norway.
