Six Senses checking in to Costa Rica
Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas is bringing its luxury wellness concept to Central America.
It has partnered with The Canyon Group for the Six Senses Papagayo in Costa Rica, which is slated to open in 2021.
It forms part of the 2,300-acre Papagayo Peninsula and will feature 41 pool villas as well as a further 31 branded residences for sale.
Along with a signature luxury spa and fitness center, Six Senses Papagayo will house organic fruit, vegetable and herb gardens used on chef’s menus and for natural spa treatments.
"We are very excited about our first project in Central America. Everything starts with the question of preserving the natural and cultural heritage of Costa Rica while enhancing social and economic benefits," said Six Senses CEO, Neil Jacobs.
Six Senses Papagayo is owned and under development by The Canyon Group which has selected London-based architect John Heah to design the resort.
Six Senses Papagayo is located about 40 minutes from Liberia International Airport, which is well served by numerous flights to North American cities.
Six Senses, which was acquired by IHG earlier this year, has 18 new developments in the pipeline which will virtually double its portfolio.
