Six ships in Europe for Royal Caribbean in ‘07
Royal Caribbean International has confirmed plans to deploy six ships in Europe next summer.
Legend of the Seas, operating from Southampton for the second successive summer this year, will move to Civitavecchia (Rome) next summer to make way for Voyager-class Navigator of the Seas to make its ex-UK debut.
Legend will run two Mediterranean itineraries, including new ports of call.
The announcement brings the number of Royal Caribbean International ships deployed in Europe next year to six as the line moves to meet growing demand.
President Adam Goldstein said: “We clearly recognise the importance of Europe for our future growth and the deployment of Legend of the Seas will strengthen our position as the third largest brand operating in Europe. Every day next summer we will have over 14,000 berths on Royal Caribbean International ships in Europe.”
Legend’s 2007 season starts on May 6 with a 12-night Italy & Croatia cruise, including the new destinations of Portofino and Split. This will be followed by a 12-night Greece and Eastern Mediterranean cruise, combining the new ports of Alexandria and Limassol with current destinations in Greece, Turkey and Italy.
The 12-night Italy and Croatia cruise will call at Portofino, Florence and Pisa (Livorno), Sicily (Messina), Split, Venice, Dubrovnik and Naples. The 12-night Greece and Eastern Mediterranean sailing will visit Mykonos, Ephesus, Rhodes, Limassol, Alexandria, Athens and Naples.
