Nominees have been revealed for the inaugural World Ski Awards.

Organisers of the World Ski Awards says it is the first programme to acknowledge and reward the finest brands in the global ski hospitality industry.

Of the 80 countries offering open-air ski areas, the inaugural World Ski Awards will focus on the leading 20 nations.

The awards programme features four "blue riband" categories:

– Best ski resort
– Best hotel
– Best boutique hotel, and
– Best chalet in the top 20 ski nations.

Online voting is underway on the awards website.

The winners of each national category will go head-to-head with the winners of the other countries before the unveiling of the world winners.

Winners will be announced at the inaugural World Ski Awards ceremony in Kitzbuhel, Austria, on November 16.
