Small gains for travel shares

Many travel and tourism shares experienced small gains yesterday as London’s equity markets moved ahead once more.

 

The FTSE 100 index gained 13.2 points to close at 4504.8 – its fifth rise in succession – while the FTSE 250 added 19.7points to end the day at 6141.8.

 

There were few significant moves, however; EasyJet fell back 4p after an horrendous session on Monday, while First Choice dropped back 0.75p despite releasing encouraging figures.
