Smaller is better, say business travelers
Business travelers are taking fewer international trips and spending less time when they do go, according to the 2005 National Business Travel Monitor study.
However, 42% of those taking part in the survey said they planned more business trips this year. Only 24% said they would travel less.
How did the travelers come out in their preference for smaller or larger hotels?
Small is better. Seventy-four percent said they preferred small hotels of less than 300 rooms.
More survey participants this year than in 2004 said they would be interested in non-chain hotels, 14% versus 10% last year.
And is hotel quality improving? No.
When asked that question, only 51% said yes, down from 58% last year.
