Snake found in hotel bed
Housekeeping staff at an Asheville, NC hotel made the discovery of a very unusual item of lost property left in a hotel room.
After unfurling the bed sheets, a five-foot long boa constrictor was found in the bed.
Police spokeswoman Christina Hallingse said the slippery reptile was taken to an animal shelter until it was later claimed by its owner.
She said the owner Neil Miller was not staying at the Rodeway Inn and Suites but was visiting a guest and somehow ‘forgot’ the snake.
Miller’s pet is a three-year-old Colombian red tail boa constrictor, which he has named Chuck.
"I set him down for two minutes and forgot about him, walked out," Miller said.
Police say they do not know how the snake ended up in bed.
