Snooze in a box at the British Open
Portable hotel company Snoozebox will provide a 160-room temporary hotel for the 2013 British Open golf tournament at Muirfield, Scotland.
The Snoozebox hotel will be built next to Archerfield estate’s walled garden in East Lothian, where several marquees will be erected to create "lounges" for guests. Archerfield is also developing a micro-brewery at the walled garden.
After being used for the Open, the accommodation blocks will be moved to Edinburgh for a second season at the city’s fringe festivals.
Snoozebox will also treble the size of its temporary hotel at the Edinburgh Fringe, following a successful 2012 launch.
It is also in talks to create a 500-room unit for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
